- To the bread crumb mixture, add the beef, pork, egg, onion, garlic, herbs, cheese and salt and pepper and mix together with your hands until all ingredients are just incorporated.1/4 pound 85% lean ground beef1/4 pound ground pork2 tablespoons yellow onion1 medium egg1 clove garlic1/2 teaspoon dried basil1 teaspoon dried oregano1/2 tablespoon fresh parsley1/4 cup parmesan cheese1/4 teaspoon salt and pepper
- Shape into 1 1/2 inch balls (just eyeball it) and place on cookie sheet, spacing evenly apart. You should be able to shape 18 or so meatballs depending on the size.
- Place in middle rack of oven for 10 minutes. Remove and turn meatballs over to brown underside. Return to the oven for and additional 10-12 minutes. If you have a thermometer, internal temp in the middle of meatball should be 165 degrees. We love this digital thermometer.
- Enjoy these meatballs in your favorite marinara pasta recipe, as a sandwich or simply by themselves with some mozzarella or provolone cheese.
