2-4teaspoonssuperfine (caster) sugar, 'super fine' granulated sugar can be made with a blender or food processor.

Instructions
Slice a line along wedge edges and remove seeds. Add to glass with sugar. Begin with 2 teaspoons and adjust for sweetness as needed. Some cachaças are sweeter than others, so sugar may need to be adjusted anyway. Use a muddler to 'mash' sugar and lime, releasing juice and oils of limes.

Though not traditional, can substitute 1/2 to 2/3 ounces agave syrup in place of the superfine sugar.No cachaça? No problem. Can substitute with a good white rum.or For Caipiroska cocktail: Use vodka in place of cachaça and turbinado sugar in place of superfine sugar for muddling lime.
