½pound80/20 ground beef, a mix of sirloin and chuck is ideal
2hamburger buns
2slices cheese of choice
salt and pepper
toppings, bacon, tomato slices, lettuce leaf, red onion, dill pickles
Instructions
Divide beef into two-quarter pound rounds. Press each firmly into a patty shape.
Season beef patties with kosher salt and fresh ground pepper.
Prepare the grill. It will need to be hot for a good sear on the beef.
Place your burgers on to cook. The hot grill will quickly form that crunchy sear on top but watch for risk of burning.
For a medium-well done burger: watch for the pink juices to rise to the top, it is time to flip. After three minutes, the burger(s) is ready for cheese. You can also set your burger buns on to toast as well, but off the side. Close lid for just a minute until cheese is melted and now your burgers are ready to plate.
Dress up with favorite condiments. Consider making this quick and easy Corn and Chickpea Salad as a side.
